Stirring Up the Flame: April 2026 Communiqué

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God…” – 2 Timothy 1:6

In his letter to Timothy, Paul offers a powerful challenge that resonates with every educator today: Live up to your calling. We have all been gifted in unique ways, but the stewardship of those gifts rests with us. Paul tells Timothy to “stir up” the gift—or as other versions say, “fan into flame.”

Think of a cooking fire. When not in use, it smolders to conserve fuel. But when it’s time to work, those embers must be fanned with fresh gusts of air to spring back to life. The Greek tense used here implies continuous action. We must keep fanning that flame!

My question for you today is: Are you tending the fire, or are your embers just smoldering? As educators, we cannot give what we do not have. If your fire isn’t hot, you cannot pass that passion on to your students. Let’s commit to tending our spiritual and professional fires so we can light the way for the next generation.

College Mathematics II: Now requires both the Answer Key and Solution Key for scoring.
Fiji & Indonesia Social Studies: New PACEs and Score Keys are now available.
Australian Government & Territories: This new 5-unit course replaces the old History 1092–1095. Note: Students will need online access for research.
Computer Studies 1 & 2: New tutorial links are live at learnfree.org. Please note that students will need to create a free account (with parental consent if under 18) and will require YouTube access.

The Science of Mastery Learning

Why does the PACE system work? Recent research from AERO confirms that Mastery Learning is one of the most effective ways to move knowledge from working memory into long-term memory.

By sequencing tasks so that a student must master one objective before moving to the next, we prevent “cognitive overload.” This approach allows students to build on existing “chunks” of knowledge, making learning more permanent and less stressful. Whether in science, math, or language, mastery learning remains the gold standard for student achievement.

Leadership and Legacy: Reflections from Batam

It has been quite some time since I last stood at the front of a classroom, facing a room full of eager minds. Stepping back into that space today was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. I had the immense privilege of leading a workshop on Accountable Leadership at the Batam Educators Conference, and looking out at the classroom setup, I felt a profound sense of responsibility and excitement.

The energy in the room was palpable. We often talk about leadership in abstract terms, but seeing it manifest in the dedication of these educators was inspiring. This wasn’t just a group of professionals; this was a brilliant assembly of visionaries committed to excellence. They didn’t just come to listen; they came to engage, to challenge themselves, and to grow for the sake of the next generation.

I truly believe that Batam is in good hands. There is a unique spirit in this region of Indonesia—a hunger for growth and a steadfast commitment to integrity. As we walked through the principles of accountability, it became clear that these leaders aren’t just looking for success; they are looking for significance. Their heart for service is a testament to the bright future ahead for their students and their community.

I am more convinced than ever that God has great plans for this region. It is an honor to partner with Southern Cross Educational Enterprises (SCEE) and ACE South Pacific to support this journey. These organizations continue to pave the way for educational standards that prioritize character alongside competence.

Leaving the classroom today, my heart is full. To the educators in Batam: thank you for your passion. The seeds of accountable leadership sown today will undoubtedly bear fruit for years to come. The journey of impact continues!

The heart of this conference was not just about administration. Instead, it focused on the spiritual roadmap we provide for our students. By grounding children in the truth of Jesus, we empower them to face the world with grace. Furthermore, we believe Christian education is more than an alternative to secular schools. It is a vital ministry that shapes the eternal destiny of the next generation. This mission requires our full heart and dedication every single day.

The Vision of A.C.E. and Accelerate

The future of Christ-centered education through A.C.E. and Accelerate is exceptionally bright. Throughout the event, we saw how these curriculum pathways continue to innovate. They provide the tools necessary for students to master academics while growing in character. Consequently, the synergy between these programs and the church-school model is creating a global impact. This positive impact starts right here in Semarang and reaches out to the world.

As we depart, we carry more than just notes. We carry a renewed fire. We are heading back to our classrooms with the knowledge that our work is bearing fruit. In addition, the dedication witnessed this week proves a powerful point. When we put Christ at the center, the potential for our students is limitless.

Inspiring Success: Jakarta Educators Conference 2026 Highlights

The Jakarta Educators Conference 2026 was a powerful event for our community. This year, we met for a very clear reason. We want to grow Christ-centered education in this nation and support those on the front lines of teaching. Consequently, as the event ends, we feel very grateful for the time spent together.

A Theme That Anchors Us: Righteous in Christ The main idea of this year’s gathering was "Righteous in Christ." It is often easy to rely on our own skills when we are busy with school life. However, this event reminded us of a simple truth. Our strength and our hope come from Jesus alone. Understanding our standing in Him changes how we lead our classrooms and how we love our students.

Highlights from the Jakarta Educators Conference 2026 The energy all week was great. Specifically, we felt a strong sense of unity during worship and learning. It was a blessing to see so many educators dedicated to the same mission of Biblical excellence.

Mastery Learning: Many talks focused on "Mastery Learning." This helps us reach the heart of every student. We discussed how timely feedback can change a student's learning path.
New Friends: Furthermore, it was a joy to see A.C.E. teachers from many areas. We talked about our wins and our hard times. These connections are vital for long-term success in ministry.
A Big Vision: We stood with leaders who want kids to grow. Therefore, we are more committed than ever to reach "Stronger, Deeper, and Higher" in all our educational goals.

Moving Forward In conclusion, we leave Jakarta with fresh hope and new tools for our schools. Thank you to every teacher who traveled to be with us. You are building a bright future for your kids.

Finally, let’s take this joy back to our classrooms. We do this work because we are made Righteous in Christ. We look forward to seeing the fruit of this week in the months to come.

Consequently, we are heading to this Indonesia Educators Conference to equip those on the front lines. This includes teachers, principals, and parents. We want to help them fulfill their God-ordained roles.

A Beacon in the Spiritual Battle

Furthermore, this trip is a response to a significant challenge. We will be a “beacon of light in the middle of darkness.” Our team will minister to schools and educators in a spiritual battle. Therefore, our mission is to bring encouragement and challenge. We want to help these leaders remain led by the Spirit as they teach.
